Leaps and Bounds Family Services has a new address!
11370 Hupp Ave, Warren, MI 48089
Recently, three Leaps and Bounds staff members have been certified in Instructional Design. This is a huge accomplishment that consisted of 40-hours of in-person classroom instruction, an additional 40-hour practicum and endless time spent developing 3 new trainings for the ECE Career Center at Leaps and Bounds!
Instructional Design is used as the basis for developing and delivering a host of trainings for early childhood educators, its goal is to create the most effective adult learner experience.
Our agency is very proud of the dedication these women put into becoming certified, and we are eager to see the continued benefits of having in-house Instructional Design Developers.
Thank you Katrina Stewart (left), Julie Lemay (middle) and Paige Henning (right) for being so hard working and demonstrating your passion for our mission to advance an equitable society by supporting early childhood educators who seek to provide the highest quality care for children!

Our current CDA cohort has officially produced the most Child Development Associate Credentials compared to any other! We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and look forward to celebrating these individuals in August.

Testimonials & Impact Stories
"The most helpful part of the training was learning about child development stages and how to create activities that match each child’s needs and abilities. I will focus on using more age-appropriate teaching strategies to support infants’ and toddlers’ growth. I’ll also work on improving my observation and documentation skills to better track each child’s development and needs."

"It’s easier to work with my family schedule after long workdays - eliminates making a long day even longer with extra travel time and fuel expenses. I was able to take away so many valuable things to incorporate in the classroom. It was very meaningful to learn from the instructor as well as gain the perspectives and thoughts of everyone who joined virtually. We were given the opportunity to work together through breakout rooms as well as through the chat."

"We were able to interact with peers and learn different ways to bring diversity to our classrooms and centers. Resources and group work opened the possibilities and different ideas I can incorporate at work. It brought further awareness to my lack of cultural/ inclusivity representation within my class through questions and strategies to improve."

"This training really showed that you can incorporate science into a lot of different aspects in the classroom. It doesn't always need to be structured or overly planned out. You can classify or observe other aspects. I will try and incorporate the 5 science elements more in my classroom. I found the training engaging because it included practical examples and interactive activities that I can apply with the children."

Infant-Toddler Pre-recorded Training
April 2025
"When taking this pre-recorded training, I found the process to be very smooth and easy. The recording was easy to watch and engaging and allowed time for personal reflection. It also included a lot of information that is easy to implement in the classroom and helpful."
"This training was engaging because it allowed time for reflection about our own classrooms as well as insight on how to make changes for the benefit of the children."
"I found the training engaging. I especially liked the suggested book resources at the end of the training. I also like the idea of encouraging the parents to share home pictures to use to tell stories. One way I will change how I teach based on this training is to place pictures of children and their families on the wall in various places in the classroom and tell stories about the children. I also plan to take pictures of the children during the day and make little story books using small photo albums (I loved that idea). I will educate my parents on the importance of building language rich environments."
