1988 - 2013
 SINCE 1988 WE HAVE ...

Provided 16,000 children birth – age 5 with 2.2 million hours of services including center-based childcare, early literacy learning groups and kindergarten readiness home visits. 
 
• Provided 700 teen aged youth with 310,000 hours of academic tutoring and youth leadership development.
 
• Provided 12 conflict reconciliation trainings to teens in the Van Dyke and Detroit school districts as well as in Chicago.
 
• Provided 5,700 adults with 4.1 million hours of educational support including adult basic education classes and GED preparation, ESL classes, Parent Skill Building Workshops and training for Child Care Providers.
 
• Participated in neighborhood revitalization efforts in the communities of Osborn and Brightmoor (Detroit), south Warren and through support of the urban farming community of Feedom Freedom in southeast Detroit.

BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS:
Participants will discuss the types of
bloodborne pathogens and ways they are transmitted. The training will also address preventing and responding to exposure of bloodborne pathogens in your childcare setting. Meets annual licensing requirements.

BENEFITS OF OUTDOOR PLAY:
This training discusses ways to enhance the quality of outdoor play spaces. The participants will gain insight on the adults’ role in preparing the outdoor play space as well as how to facilitate structured and unstructured outdoor play. Meets annual licensing requirements.

LEAPS & BOUNDS RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION AS PART OF PLUNKETT & COONEY'S "100 ACTS OF KINDNESS" CAMPAIGN
 
 
Plunket Cooney, a Detroit area law firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary by
holding a campaign called "100 Acts of Kindness". The campaign collects materials and
supplies for programs it has identified. Leaps and Bounds Family Services was pleased to
be a recipient; materials included paper, crayons, books were collected and will be
used in the agency's Kindergarten Transition Programs.
